Dietrich Moerman, a computer science student from Belgium, has founded the project in 2003 and still actively maintains and develops UseBB 1 and 2. Approximately 95 % of UseBB 1 code has been developed ourselves. Over time, some other people have contributed patches:
- Tadashi "ELF" Jokagi (Unicode patches)
- Jeremy "Jemo" Hixon (forum and topic icons)
Limited pieces of Open Source code/graphics for UseBB 1 have been borrowed from the following people:
