What do you think, for 1.0, should be enabled by default? Currently, I'd like to do it like this: Quote E-mail view level: mail form Guests can access the board: Y Guests can see contact info: N Guests can view member profiles: Y Enable BBCode & smilies in sig: Y Max signature length: 500 chars Allow duplicate e-mail addresses: N Activation mode: e-mail activation Minimum access levels: - active topics: guests - contact admin: guests - detailed online list: members - statistics box: members - member list: members - search engine: guests - staff list: guests - statistics page: members Force avatar dimensions: disabled Hide all (avatars|sigs|user info): N to all Enable contact admin link: Y Enable detailed online list: Y Enable forum statistics box: Y Enable member list: Y Enable quick reply: Y Enable RSS feed: Y Enable staff list: Y Enable statistics page: Y Enable friendly URL's: N (due to mod_rewrite not always available) Google's nofollow: N Return to topic after posting: Y Single forum mode: N (unsure) BBCode open new windows: N Enable ACP modules: N (1.0 final will not have prepacked modules) Enable IP address banning: N (only enabled when actually used) Enable badwords filter: N Output compression: Gzip Debug mode: disabled Flood interval: 30 Online users during last x minutes: 30 Edited message note timeout: 60 Password minimum length: 6 (was: 8)
Any comments are welcome. « Last edit by Dietrich on Tue Mar 07, 2006 3:37 pm. »

Sounds pretty good for defaults, though with the password minimum i would think 6 is a good length, some people do have good decent short passwords.

Just thinking about enabling guest access to member profiles, but making a new config setting that hides all contact information for guests...

Yea, becuase usually the reason why i have guests not allowed to view member profiles is so they can't see member's contact information.

I think personally it looks good! _______________ I would rather create something 100 people could not be without. Than to create something 1000 people would like.
