I have been using Phorum on my website for a while now, and it just doesn't feel right. i recently ran into UseBB and i must say that I'm impressed. speed, ease of use and lots of features. So first of all, thanks for this great piece of software! the only problem i run into is that I'm not able to convert the existing Phorum database to UseBB's structure. Has anyone made such a converter or is someone willing to create such converter? i would be eternally grateful.

There's no 3rd party Phorum convertor available at this time...

But ofcourse anybody is free (and welcome) to write one.

Somebody once offered to write one but it was never completed. So, I can't help you.

Writing one isn't that simple, you could start looking at http://www.usebb.net/community/topic-1344.html.

I do want to write one, but I'd preffer to wait until UseBB 2 is out, since that'll be more object oriented and easier to 'plug in to'. (Currently I'm writing my own CMS, from wich a test version can be viewed at dev.g24u.net, and plan to integrate that with UBB2)

I try to combine my CMS with UseBB too.
But I do not have so much time,
therefore it probably will last up still a while to completion.
What is with the script on the homepage of usebb.net ?
That pleases me very well.
It simply uses the News forum to get its contents.
Is there a possibility to publish the script ?

I guess you shouldn't choose UseBB for your forum when you really need everything you mentioned. There are excellent forum packages like SMF who provide lots of features and mods. This isn't meant to drive away users from UseBB, but it's a light package and sometimes people forget that.

Ofcourse, I wouldn't stop anyone wishing to develop these mods themselves.

Is it possible to create an overall search box? I'd like to place one at the upper right corner of my board.
And I've also seen an interesting BBCode called 'spoiler'. If you put the [spoiler] tags around some text, it becomes hidden, and can be shown again by clicking something like a button. That can be usefull for sites that have movie info or something like that and in my case, software sites to hide the extra features text to save space. Could anyone make that?

I'm not somebody to bump topics, but I'd still like to know what's the best way to add an overall search box. And I didn't notice the spoiler tag allready being in the list, sorry 'bout that..
