Dear forum visitor, We are aware of the many problems that exist with our current hosting partner. Our host is experiencing major issues with MySQL, due to errors and problems that exist with their MySQL daemon. Although some of these bugs have been so called "fixed", we keep getting various problems, including: - blank screens; - error messages ("too many connections"/"te veel verbindingen"); - or pages that keep loading and eventually timeout. We assure these problems are not related to UseBB, and try to (again this year) look for a different hosting service for the time being, until we can finally continue our plans for a colocated server (at earliest next year). In the mean time, our apologies for any inconvenience.

Update: we just had a severe downtime due to power failures in the data center. This is ofcourse not due to our hosting service or ourselves. At this time, everything seems to be working again.

Again, problems are arising. You might get a general server page (giving server information) from our host when accessing usebb.net/, and a 404 error for anything else. Ofcourse, this situation is unacceptable, and seen the big number of problems we had before, I will try to switch to a better host asap.

Due to hosting problems, the contact form is disabled. If you tried to contact us via this form and you didn't receive a reply yet, please resend your inquiry to contact (at) usebb.net. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Everything's slow again for the moment (Server load values: 6.42, 3.58, 3.18). I'm investigating other hosts for the moment, hopefully by 2007 we will have moved.

Not sure you'd consider hosting in the US or you simply prefer something local. Surpass Hosting has excellent service, where my site is hosted, shared account.

Thanks for the tip. I already have an eye at Dreamhost too, but I need to do some research first. This is also the first time I'm looking at non-Belgian or Dutch hosting providers, since it tends to be a lot cheaper.

You might want to take a look at MSFN Hosting aswell. I don't have any experience with it but it's a sister project of MSFN.org, wich is a very respectable site.

Thanks for the ideas. In the mean time, it seems the sessions database table has crashed. I don't know how long the forum has been down, but it is repaired now.

Thanks for all the links and ideas. I have checked a few hosting companies and Surpass Hosting seems very nice, plus a few people who really recommend it. A switch might happen at the end of this or next week. It might take some time as I've got a lot of work to do, plus a few other domain names also need to be moved at the same time.
