Hi, I would like to let the developer of UseBB know that, in my opinion, it is the best forum script out there! I have 3 forums that run on UseBB, all 3 run with no problems at all ever! they are all fast loading and reliable. I have just purchased a forum that is run on VBulletin, I paid for the license and what a load of ******* its slow unreliable, over complicated, need I go on? In my opinion UseBB beats all the other forum scripts hands down and its FREE!!! Its worth 10 times what Vbullettin sells for. Thanks, Paul www.enter-the-ether.comwww.trafficboostforum.comwww.webmastersforums.net

Such things are not stored in the database. More BBCode will just be a matter of altering an XML file.

I'm waiting for the next version to come out with the more features, so that way, I don't have to upload twice to my server But useBB is very nice, compact, simple, easy, fast, reliabe (so far as I have seen), but it is missing, like yj98 said, Upload avatars, Upload attachments, more BB Code, Private Messages and Polls. Plus, it needs to be a little easier to customize, where as MyBB has a template set via the ACP, which can be altered, and the themes can be changed/customized via the ACP also. That, is my true opinion of useBB. It is nice, but it would be better if it had some more (widely known) features. Dr Small

Note, as stated numerous times, our goal is not to have a ton of features but to keep the system clean and usable. That's also the reason for UseBB 2 (a reimplementation in OO PHP 5.1), so there is a solid and future-proof base. Uploadable avatars, attachments, etc will surely come in v2. BBCode tags is something you will have to create yourself once you need them. I guess apart from lists there is nothing really essential that is missing from the BBCode abilities of UseBB 1. Since templates in v2 will by default be based on Savant (PHP), including the ability to use a different template parser, editing them live in the ACP will not be possible or will be difficult to do. So, we don't want to mimic the bigger boards and their functionality, but develop UseBB to the needs of a decent, light and (especially with v2) extensible forum package.

I like usebb as it is. There are plenty of boards with features. usebb is very lightweight and doesn't need extra features. It's great for a non-techie kind of board because people can just use the board without getting confused by too many options.

The same for me : I agree with you, harishankar. I like UseBB as it is. Simple, lightweight, sober, and fully functionnal. I don't need more fonctions. If somebody needed more than it, he may search another kind of forum, as we can find so many throught the internet.

The reason USEBB is the BEST is because Dietrich has kept it professional looking yet not over bloated with all the rubbish that other forums have to try and make up for lack of style. I think that Dietrich should charge for it, i would be the first in line to pay for my next copy. Keep up the excellent FREE work Dietrich! www.enter-the-ether.comwww.trafficboostforum.comwww.webmastersforums.net

Like it so much the layout and functionability is excellent as is, well done Dietrich, going to be quite interesting to see v2, and most importantly don't rush v2 release.
I just made some minor adjustments to the layout to fit my needs.

Thanks all. UseBB 2 sure will be of very good quality as it is now planned thoroughly and should be used as the codebase of all future UseBB releases (upto PHP 6).
