This is a great suggestion, and I would also like "events" to be a topic as wel (so topics can be an event or not, and you can discuss about the event there)

It could be useful for some forums, but I hope people understand that we will keep 2.0 a pure forum system and will try to implement a decent module system that allows this kinds of functionality to be "plugged in", so we don't have to make this part of the core package.
At least, that's what I intend to do for 2.0. So, I won't expect this in 2.0.0 already. _______________ |

I think that's the best you can do, in my opinion should this also be the case for PM's and kinda stuff as well, because that's also no pure forum anymore...

Indeed, though for PM's this was planned and requested a long time ago; so if the module system won't be available in 2.0, PM functionality might be built-in until the module system is ready in a later 2.1 or 2.2 release.

Ok.
offtopic: I want to give a compliment for this software package, I started using it today, and already I know how to modify your code and templates! Good job! |

I second that. I hate creeping featureism, in fact that's why I chose usebb, is because it simply did it's job, and nothing else. Having said that, it would be nice if there were some kind of standards so that someone (anyone, not a usebb developer) could write a standalone, robust calendar system, and the two could magically work together. (i.e,. they could be each others, "plug in". Having said that, and being a developer myself, I don't have a clue how to actually do it without it becoming a messy and bloated. tom.c |
