Hi all,

I'm really in need of, and already started programming an usergroups extention for useBB 1.0.4, and first results look promising. Is this already a feature that is planned for 2.0? Because for the board that I'm managing I really need to have subforums for specified groups only.

Another question, I'm real interested in the development of 1.99/2.0. I've read the roadmap, and also the shift to SVN is documented there. Is is possible to put your current 1.99/2.0 codebase into the SVN tree so we can see how the project is moving on? [And maybe we're able to submit patches you might use]

I also need this because if the usergroups extention is not planned I would like to start with that as early as possible..

I do believe there is usergroups are planned for 2.0. Good luck with making the 1.0.x extension though :).

I plan to test this for 2.0, though it is uncertain whether this will be available in 2.0 itself, it all depends on the available time.

We currently only have a few components that will be rewritten once the system design is ready. As we have chosen to keep the code secret, no code will be available in SVN. The reason for 1.99 is to make the code available in SVN and for people to comment on the design and code, so we can still make (big) changes before going into the beta cycle. I hope this to happen next summer.

The reason for keeping the code private were the issues we had last year with people blatantly stealing code and other contents. So we have chosen to build the new system up privately and release the code once the system is more complete. Ofcourse, this only happens once, as of "1.99" the code remains in SVN, just like v1 is in CVS since 2004.
