Hello!
I'm just looking for a forum solution for a site about to be launched. I feel like UseBB so far. However, I'd like to know in advance that if I start using it, what options would I have to transfer the information stored in its database (users, posts etc.) to some other forum software, should it not fit my needs in the long run.
thx

If you choose later on moving to another forum software, one that I know of has a converter, converts everything UseBB has to other forum.

Is it common for forum software in general to have converters for various other forum DB schemas? Or is there a common transfer-format for such data? Sorry, but I'm not quite up-to-date on what is ubiquitous among different forum software...

This would be for a MySQL database only, I don't know much about databases.

SMF is the only one I know of having a UseBB convertor. There is no unified (perhaps XML based) format to exchange forum data at this time.

Yep, works quite well, but I really don't care much for it though, there is 2 things that annoyed the hell of me after the conversion, tried it awhile ago.
