Hello:

Following the earlier advice, I now have the forum on site and am now faced with the problem of making it all work.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out how to:

1. change the e-mail address for contact admin.
2. add different forum i.e there is only one now - Test Forum

It is very possible that this project is going to turn out to be over my head but I'd like to give it a try until that has been proven. I often think this when things are at their darkest but usually I manage to stumble through so I'm hoping this will prove to be the case again.

Sorry but I don't understand your instructions.

I have looked at an other forum and there was a tab for Administrator or something like that. With UseBB will be it be necessary to alter individual files - means no panel etc???

If there is a panel etc for moderators etc where do I find it or locate it?

As mentioned in the earlier post I have it installed and now would like to know where the heck I go from here including how to make the two changes mentioned earlier.

I think you can ignore this one - when the forum first opened it demanded I log in so I thought I had to register which I did and this admitted me as an original member.

I have just tried logging with the name and password I used in the set up/installation and it has brought up a completely new page which looks like the page I was expecting and I think it will allow me to do what I want.

Seems I now have two different personas - the name that admits me to the panel and the members name I unwishly used - maybe I can find a way to get rid of that.

Will have a look around and maybe get back later - some people such as myself need to have their hands held firmly or they mess up

You can delete the member you don't want by going to ACP -> Delete Members

Or use other account for testing(user 2), look at it this way; you are admin (user 1) and user 2 can test or browse as if you were a regular member or moderator, makes it so you can be sure forum runs smoothly.

Use your main account(user 1) to login to the admin section.

Hope this isn't confusing.

I think I've got my head around the details now and have used your suggestion and registered under another user name so I can see what the other members see when they log on.

Now the only problem is to get viewers to actually post something worth reading - everyone agrees there is a use for such a forum however most seem to be behaving like a bunch of virgins as most don't have much experience with forums. They behave as if something would jump out and bite them if they actually posted something.

Time will tell.
