Dietrich, wonder if you could use an image verification, although, what you have is good, I think the image verification would be even better touch.

Just a thought.

Added to my contact page "Image verification courtesy of..." for the person who helped me implement it onto my site out of courtesy. |

Sorry for the multiple posts, just bored today is all.
Possibly a 3rd option for the anti-spam, I would try it myself and test it, but have no clue where to add it, I still use UseBB, well sorta, just sitting there doing nothing for now, been trying to figure out what to use it for. ![]() Of course had to start over again, make that I believe 4 times. ![]() |

Image verification is called CAPTCHA, although the one you have there is way too weak. The letters can very easily be found using OCR, and certainly since you are using a fixed size font. A CAPTCHA should not be readable using OCR.
The system we have in UseBB 1 is sufficient. I am using the simple math question for now, and no bot has posted anything in the testing forum so far. The custom questions should be fine for >99% of the bots. _______________ |

Like I said it was just a thought.
Sure someone that knows a lot about PHP could alter it to show angled letters and noise. « Last edit by William on Sat Nov 17, 2007 9:09 pm. » |

Eventually updating it, just as soon as I can comprehend PHP better, and by the way, so far it has worked, rather have that then nothing at all.
And I knew whats been added already was quite sufficient. |
