I am getting the following error while installation. Please help

An error was encountered. We apologize for any inconvenience.
In file sources/common.php on line 172:
E_USER_ERROR - config.php does not exist! Please rename config.php-dist to config.php.
This error should probably not have occured, so please report it to the webmaster. Thank you for your help.
If you are the webmaster of this board and you believe this is a bug, please send a bug report.

Have you followed the instructions it provided and renamed config.php-dist to config.php? This also doesn't belong in Bug Reports...

I have followed the instructions and rename the config.php-dist to config.php. It needs to be installed in root directory? or any directory under root?

You don't need to move it, just rename it. And of course it has to be writable ("chmod" to 777).
By the way, when you get an error it doesn't mean it's a bug. |
