I've been looking for a way to get email notifications of new messages (new posts, not just replies), and this would be a nice workaround. Too bad there's no way to subscribe to forums.

I second that! I would like to have some kind of option: "Subscribe to all topics" in a forum to automatically subscribe to new post and topics, when they are created.

Would love to see that!
