I believe that having a switch for the htaccess file would be a very good addition to the installation of the software. Not all servers support modrewrite and I believe that will detour people when they find an Internal Server Error when they run the install script. For the future install file the htaccess file should be written during install with the rewrite or without it. Just an idea. Just ask if you need more info from me.
