Hi, does anybody have experience of building a website which combines a blog, a wiki and a forum? I am looking for software which will ease the integration of these three areas for me as much as possible. I have tested various Wikis and blogs, and am busy testing some PHP based Forum software.
I want to achieve as much as possible of the following:
a) Single registration across the forum, blog and wiki
b) Single user preferences/password maintenance area
c) Single look-and-feel across the areas, even apply selectable skins / styles globally ...
d) Single search function
e) Have it done as simple as possible to maintain future supporability (ie I don't want to hack the DB structure or the PHP source too much, but I can possibly add some DB triggers and PHP codes of my own.
f) Stick with Free software.
g) Build a wrapping website from where the user can do the global functions, such as log in, register, and switch between the areas.
I am a real beginner in terms of PHP and the LAMP platform, so bear with me please.
Any experience, suggestions, or help welcome!
Thanx,
_hartz
I'd use Drupal for this kind of stuff.
(Moving this topic to Chit Chat btw, it's not UseBB related.)
