why the password requires 8 characters ?

8 characters is a reasonable length, less characters means less secure.

I use three passwords all six characters long, that are like this: 2g65jo
They are very secure, if someone can hack that, then an extra two characters is no issue. Even if you force people to use long passwords, they often do thinks like mirroring text (passwwssap), doubling up (passwpassw), or just adding numbers to the end or start (passw001). _______________ |

8 or more characters would be lot more secure, smaller would be dangerous and easy for any hacker or wannabe script kiddies.
